Picking up the pieces…

This is when my family and I realized things were very serious. My father decided to leave wisconsin and head to the mountains and North Carolina to be closer to more family. He walked away from an incredible job and essentially had nothing. Maybe a few hundred bucks in the bank and a vehicle that would later get repossessed. Oh and of course his camera. That was always with him.

For a brilliant, hard working man, this was crippling. He had to completely start over. He lived with my aunt and Uncle for a while until he could get back on his feet and move into a place of his own. A family friend donated a vehicle to him which was a huge blessing.

He had purpose now. He landed an awesome job with a great software company and he was back to taking pictures like he loved. Although I was back in Wisconsin finishing high school and college, I visited my dad a few times throughout those years, and talked over the phone a few times a week. Constantly worrying about him, but things were seemingly getting better…
