Why dimdaze

Why the title, “dimdaze?”

It is made up of two words, dim and daze.

  • Dim – not bright; obscure from lack of light or emitted light.
  • Daze – to stupefy or stun.

No rocket science here; just two plain ole words put together.

Originally, I created the blog to share my experiences regarding mental illness; a no holds barred, in your face, real-life approach to discussing mental illness.  It seemed to me there are not many people willing to talk about such a taboo subject. I understand, I’m 58 and I just came out of the proverbial closet.

I finally told the director, my supervisor, and few coworkers I feel I can trust.

The key here is that I am 58 years old.  I have suffered from mental illness since I was in my teens, and I’ve made it this far.  Hang in there.
